When prospective buyers visit ORI, we can describe the friendly atmosphere and strong sense of community, but it means much more when they see it for themselves. The most memorable moments often happen when owners pause what they’re doing to greet guests, offer a warm hello, or share a quick conversation.
During one tour in the middle of September’s desert heat, a year-round resident stopped to say hello to a visiting couple. That small gesture made such an impression that the couple left not only feeling welcomed, but confident enough to purchase a lot. A simple greeting turned an ordinary tour into a meaningful experience. This is the spirit that defines ORI.
Much of this welcoming atmosphere is supported by our dedicated Resort Hosts. These volunteers step in whenever the sales team is unavailable or when a guest prefers a casual introduction before speaking with sales. When a host is called on, they arrive in a golf cart marked with the Resort Hosts sign and guide guests through the resort.
They share personal experiences, highlight popular amenities, and offer an honest look at what daily life at ORI feels like. Guests appreciate this approach. It feels genuine because it is. Visitors get insight from someone who has chosen ORI as their home and can speak from personal experience. For many guests, it feels like getting an inside look at the community.
Tours take place several times a day during peak season, with additional tours continuing throughout the summer. Each tour is an opportunity for visitors to see ORI in action. The grounds are beautiful, but it is the everyday interactions between residents and visitors that leave the biggest impression.
A wave, a friendly comment, or a quick story from a resident can create an immediate connection. Guests see that ORI is more than a resort. It is a community where neighbors look out for one another and friendships form naturally.
To every volunteer who serves as a Resort Host, thank you. You are often the first welcome a guest receives and a big part of why people feel at home here. And to every ORI owner who has ever paused to greet a tour group or share a moment of kindness, we appreciate you. Your friendliness shows visitors what makes ORI truly special.
If you spot a golf cart with a Resort Hosts sign, give them a wave and say hello. Your kindness helps keep the ORI spirit alive.
Here’s to another fun and memorable season at Outdoor Resort Indio. We look forward to seeing you around the resort.
